5G-Blueprint paper accepted for presentation at the 2021 EuCNC & 6G Summit

The paper, entitled “Enhanced Teleoperated Transport and Logistics: A 5G Cross-Border Use Case”, led by 5G-Bluprint’s Technical Coordinator, presents how 5G-Blueprint aims to exceed the limits of current 5G rollouts.

use-casesAbstract

The H2020 project 5G-Blueprint aims to exceed the limits of current 5G rollouts, which have been mainly focused on enhanced broadband by implementing, deploying, and evaluating

the  newest  5G  features  as  enablers  towards  an  ecosystem  for highly advanced Connected and Automated Mobility (CAM) use cases, with an emphasis on teleoperation of vehicles and vessels.

Cross-border challenges will be tackled in terms of 5G network design  and  implementation  on  the  field  to  reduce  outage  time when  performing  handovers  between  multi-operator  and  multi- domain networks across the Dutch-Belgian border, continuously fulfilling the service requirements by providing ultra-reliable and low latency communications. The main outcome of 5G-Blueprint will  result  in  a  blueprint  for  the  future  cooperation  between public, private, and semi-private parties (e.g., ports) enhanced by 5G technologies and the insights associated with business models, policies, and regulation of teleoperation and other CAM services.

About 2021 Joint EuCNC & 6G Summit

The 2021 Joint EuCNC & 6G Summit, sponsored by the IEEE Communications Society and the European Association for Signal Processing, builds on putting together two successful conferences in the area of telecommunications – the 30th edition of EuCNC and the 3rd edition of 6G Summit. The conference focuses on all aspects of connectivity ranging from 5G deployment and mobile IoT to 6G exploration and future communications systems and networks. It also encompasses related technological areas like components and devices for telecommunications, experimentation, and testbeds, as well as applications and services. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the event will be held in a virtual format between Tue, Jun 8, 2021 and Fri, Jun 11, 2021.
